About Us

The guides for Siberian birding tours:

Adam Gretton has visited Siberia six times, including three expeditions (1989—1994) while working for BirdLife International on the critically endangered Slender-billed Curlew. More recently in 2009 he visited the high Altai to plan the route for this tour. He also participated in the expedition to Mongolia in 2010. Adam works as a team leader for Natural England in East Suffolk and was Chairman of the Suffolk Ornithologists’ Group from 2005—2009.

Dr. Alexander Yurlov is a professional ornithologist based in Novosibirsk. Sasha is a very keen bird photographer and many of his photos are used in this leaflet. Sasha speaks fluent English and has extensive experience of field trips.


Our Russian partner who is responsible for organization and logistics:

Dr Pavel Barsukov, has 16 years of experience in organizing and managing international educational and scientific excursions, ecotours and expeditions in Siberia for international teams. He has a professional permanent team of drivers, cooks and tour managers to ensure the smooth running of the tours in what could sometimes be described as challenging conditions.
